    Meet Shannon

    Shannon serves as our Project Manager here at AES.  She graduated from Gardner Webb University with a BS in Business Administration and a MBA in Business. She, her husband Marty and their two boys reside in Ronda, NC, along with their four fur babies.  In her free time she enjoys watching her sons play soccer and race go carts.

     

    Shannon started her career at Lowe’s Companies and has also worked for VF Corporation and Renfro Manufacturing before joining us at AES. As Project Manager she is responsible for managing all aspects of the manufacturing and assembly projects from our customers including the planning, scope, time, costing, and quality for each project. She also provides detailed status updates, risk analysis, and issues to leadership to ensure highest level of service for each project.

     

    She works closely with engineering, production, purchasing, quality, logistics, finance, account managers and Sales to make sure we deliver exceptional results in a timely manner.  Shannon constantly works to strengthen AES’s relationships with our customers to help grow these accounts. Shannon is an asset to our team!

    Meet Sharon

    Sharon Jones serves as an Account Manager on our Customer Service Team here at AES. She is a mother and wife and enjoys spending time with her family and is heavily involved in her church. 

    As Account Manager, Sharon handles many of our larger accounts including our Repair Depots and Medical accounts. She is responsible for the overall customer satisfaction for her accounts and ensures that all of the repair orders are processed accurately and timely for our customers. She continually works to strengthen her relationships with her customers and grow the accounts to help generate additional business from our current customer base. Sharon is an asset to our team!

    Meet Tina

    Tina serves as an Executive Account Manager on our Customer Service Team here at AES. She holds an Associates of Science in Business Administration and enjoys spending time with her family. Prior to AES, Tina worked in Inventory & Logistics Management and has been dedicated to servicing customers for more than 25 years.

    As Executive Account Manager, Tina handles many of all of our Imaging Division’s key accounts ($3mil+). She is responsible for the overall customer satisfaction for her accounts and ensures that all of the repair orders are processed accurately and timely for our customers. Tina continually works to strengthen her relationships with her customers and grow the accounts to help generate additional business from our current customer base. She also works with to negotiate pricing, contracts, and generate new business for these accounts. Tina is an asset to our team!

    As Account Manager, Shannon handles many of our larger accounts including our Manufacturing and Energy accounts. She is responsible for the overall customer satisfaction for her accounts and ensures that all of the repair orders are processed accurately and timely for our customers. Shannon continually works to strengthen her relationships with her customers and grow the accounts to help generate additional business from our current customer base.

    Meet Barry

    Barry serves as a Strategic Account Executive on our Sales Team here at AES. He enjoys boating and camping with his family. Barry has Industrial Electronics Training as well as Professional Sales Training to enable him to perfect his sales skills. Before coming to AES, Barry was a Regional Sales Manager where he performed service calls that included industrial electrical and mechanical troubleshooting along with sales.

    As Strategic Account Executive, Barry identifies new potential opportunities to generate new business for the company. He also is dedicated to manage existing accounts and ensuring their satisfaction. Barry constantly works with the Operations Team communicate customer expectations and needs so that our team can exceed them. Barry is an asset to our team!

    Seth serves as an Inside Sales Representative on our Sales Team here at AES. Seth works on our Sales Team to help qualify leads that our Sales Support Team generates. He educates potential customers on our products and services and signs new customers to generate new business for the company. Seth is an asset to our team!

    Meet James

    James Boyd serves as our Vice President of Business Development for AES. He is married to his wife of over 26 years (Detra) with three children (Sarah, Seth, and Summer) a great Son in-law Mark Willard and Grandson Asher Willard. James truly enjoys hearing the TRUTH of God’s word even though it points out the weaknesses of all men “(especially my own, knowing myself better than anyone)” he says, causing him to be thankful for His Son who took Jame’s place on Calvary. He also enjoys muscle cars of all makes even though his older brothers got him hooked on Corvettes at the age of eight. He also really enjoys TRYING to play golf even though he says he started way too late in his life to ever be any good.

    James is a Graduate of Carroll County High School in Hillsville, Virginia. He attended classes at Surry Community College and Virginia Tech. He has also spent much time on the campus of Radford University. Never receiving a degree, but spending quality time with professors and graduates has allowed him to have a unique insight in our overall business approach here at AES. Example: AES sponsored a marketing project for the University of North Carolina at Greensboro’s (UNCG) Bryan School of Business and Economics; as a mentor to the MBA students James spent much time with their MBA Department Leads and North Carolina Regional Directors. From that sponsorship and involvement he was invited to attend Harvard Law Schools Program on Negotiation for Senior Executives. This program was a collaborative effort among faculty at Harvard, MIT, Tufts and other Boston-area universities to design, implement and evaluate improved dispute resolution practices.

    Responsibilities at AES – he is responsible for sales and business direction through a developmental strategy that allows AES to become not just a supplier but an integrated partner with our customers. This includes; business inception, contract negotiations, training and scheduling, final implementation and ongoing relationship management. He reports directly to the owners of AES, Leslie and Steve Cooke whom he works closely with to set goals and parameters from and for their overall business ideas. He has direct contact with all AES customers and assert business protection/continuity practices through multi-level cross training and ongoing support throughout the organization here at AES.

    Prior to my current position – He was co-owner of a family owned grounds and maintenance company that’s still in operation today. This family business holds multiple contracts with state and local governmental agencies. James is an asset to our team!

  • Abbey DunkleyAccount ManagerCustomer Service Team1 Years of Service
    Meet Abbey

    Abbey serves as an Account Manager on our Customer Service Team here at AES. She considers herself to be a traditional country girl from Surry County and is married to her husband of more than 13 years. She also has a Chihuahua named Ace and lives in Stokes County. She enjoys spending time with her close-knit family, drawing horses, and doing amateur photography. Abbey graduated from Surry Community College in 2004 with an Associates of Science in Medical Office Administration where she worked in the medical field for 12 years, but primarily in Radiology.

    As Account Manager on our Customer Service Team, Abbey handles many of our larger accounts including our Military and Government accounts. She is responsible for the overall customer satisfaction for her accounts and ensures that all of the repair orders are processed accurately and timely for our customers. Abbey continually works to strengthen her relationships with her customers and grow the accounts to help generate additional business from our current customer base. She enjoys being a part of the AES C.A.R.E.S. Team where she helps serve our community through volunteering, fundraising, and support.

    Meet Teke

    Teke Klipfel serves as our National Sales Manager here at AES. He was born in Asheboro, NC and raised in Lenoir, NC. He attended Western Carolina University and graduated in 1993 with a BSBA in Marketing. He enjoys sports, including football, basketball, and baseball and is an avid Green Bay and NC State fan. 

    As National Sales Manager, he oversees the daily sales functions of the sales team and assists in closing sales, generating leads to help the sales team develop new opportunities, and helps to ensure customer satisfaction. He works closely with our Vice President of Business Development to grow the company and exceed set sales goals. Prior to AES, Teke was the Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Tigertek Industrial Services where he led a sales team and grew company revenues from $1.2 million annually to $5 million annually.

    Meet Teresa

    Teresa serves as a Customer Service Representative on our Customer Service Team here at AES. She is married and has 2 children, 3 grandchildren, and a great grandchild. Teresa has 3 Certificates from Surry Community College and currently works on the Customer Service Team.

    As Customer Service Representative, she is responsible for handling customer requests, processing customer repair orders, and establishing and growing relationships with her customers. Teresa is an asset to our team!

    Meet Dan

    Dan serves as a Strategic Account Executive on our Sales Team here at AES. Dan is a father of 2 and has been married for over 29 years to his wife, Mary Lance. He enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, and traveling. Prior to AES, Dan spent a number of years in industrial electrical construction and ammonia refrigeration industry.

    As a Strategic Account Executive, he maintains relationships with current customers, identifies new opportunities and develops new customers to expand our customer base. Dan is an asset to our team!

    Meet Kristen

    Kristen serves as Operations Coordinator here at AES. She received her Associate of Science in Business Administration from New River Community College. Kristen, her husband, Stephen, and their 3 children, Max, Jada, and Mia Puckett reside in Laurel Fork, VA alongside the Blue Ridge Parkway. Prior to AES, Kristen worked as an Insurance Agent for Virginia Farm Bureau – Small Business Group – Employee Benefits.

    She joined AES in September of 2011 as a Business Development Assistant on our Business Development Team and was later promoted to Operations Coordinator. She is responsible for overseeing the scheduling of repairs to ensure they are completed before customer deadlines. Also, Kristen works alongside department supervisors to develop effective plans that will enhance the efficiency of various areas. She is continuously searching for ways to improve operational processes, provide higher quality repairs, and expedite repair orders for critical and top tier customers when necessary. In addition, Kristen also manages several of our assembly projects for some of our largest clients. Kristen is an asset to the team!

    Meet Brandon

    Brandon serves as an Inside Sales Representative on our Sales Team here at AES. Brandon enjoys being outdoors including hunting, fishing, and shooting. He is married to his wife, Charlotte and they have one daughter named Kaylee. Brandon previously worked with parts and service at Patterson GM. He currently works in inside sales to qualify leads from our Sales Support Team, increase our customer base and gain new opportunities for the Sales Team. Brandon is an asset to AES!

    Meet James

    James Cromer serves as our Solar Repair Supervisor for AES. He enjoys spending most of his time with his wife, Anna and his daughter Charlotte. James graduated from Surry Community College with an Electrical Diploma and an Associates in Science of Electronic Engineering Technology in 2013. Prior to James being promoted to the Solar Repair Supervisor, he worked as an Electro-Mechanical Repair Technician for with our Imaging Team. Now, as Solar Repair Supervisor, James is responsible for ensuring that the repair process flows smoothly with very high quality. He also works with scheduling to be sure that all repairs are processed and delivered to the customer on time.  James constantly identifies way for the Solar Repair Team to become more efficient and effective to accomplish the team goals. He also assists in the setup of new production lines and areas to create an efficient workflow prior to the start of a new project. James is an asset to our team!

    Meet Larry

    Larry Ervin serves as the Quality Manager for AES. Larry is married and has 1 son. He has over 20 years of experience in the automotive assembly OEM industry as well as 20 years with the Department of Defense and Military industry. As Quality Manager, Larry is responsible for the management of our Quality Management System and maintaining our ISO 9000 certification for our company. He also is responsible for the inspection of all of our repairs and assemblies that we produce for our customers. Larry works to evaluate internal processes to ensure compliance to our written procedures as well as identifies areas of improvement across the company. Larry is an asset to our team!

    Meet Josh

    Josh Caudle serves at the Imaging Repair & Projects Supervisor at AES. Josh graduated from Surry Community College and Wilkes Community College. He is married to Tabitha Caudle and has 3 children; Bryson, Brody, and Sophie Caudle. Josh enjoys spending time with his family and playing sports with his children. As Imaging Repair & Projects Supervisor, Josh oversees all repairs for the Imaging Repair department including photo printers, kiosk monitors, one-hour photo machines, and more. He is responsible for ensuring that all orders are completed with the highest-quality repair possible and meets the due date set by our customers. He is also oversees the production for our Projects Team to ensure that orders are processed accurately and on time. He works with the Project Manager and Project Leads to ensure that the customer needs are met and all builds for the project are assembled correctly and according to the drawings provided by the customer. Josh is an asset to our team!

    Meet Nicholas

    Nicholas Cooke serves as the Financial Coordinator for AES. He graduated from Surry Community College with an Associates of Science in Business Administration and a Certificate in Accounting. He will begin pursuing his Bachelors of Science in Business Administration through Gardner Webb University in the Spring of 2018. As Financial Coordinator, Nicholas develops, implements, and monitors the company’s annual operating budget while reviewing costs and identifying areas of savings for the company. Nicholas prepares and analyzes financial reports for upper management including income statements, balance sheets, and other reports. He coordinates financial planning for special projects that require additional resources such as new staff, tools, equipment, facility renovations, and more. He also serves as the company’s Employee and Community Relations Director, planning and organizing employee related events such as our Quarterly Luncheons, Halloween Costume Contest, Christmas Week, and more. He leads the company’s Community Relations team, AES C.A.R.E.S., through fundraising events and outreach activities to provide community support to local non-profit organizations. 

  • Whitt MitchellLogistics SupervisorLeadership Team2 Years of Service
    Meet Whitt

    Whitt Mitchell serves as our Logistics Supervisor. He resides in Ararat, VA with his four daughters Fallon, Skye, Clariti, and Maisley. Prior to joining AES, Whitt was a Warehouse Supervisor at Ten Oaks in Stuart, VA and also managed a flooring installation business. Whitt joined AES in December of 2014 as a Shipping Specialist and was later promoted to Logistics Supervisor. He schedules and manages the companies pickup and delivery routes for our customers throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia. He also oversees all aspects of the receiving staff to ensure that all incoming shipments including customer products and parts are received in an efficient and effective manner. Whitt manages our two warehouses at our Headquarters and 2 additional warehousing facilities of over 100,000 square feet that contains customer product. He also ensures that all customer product is efficiently processed and packaged safely so that the customers orders are protected and delivered on time. Whitt is a great asset on our team!

    Meet Rhonda

    Rhonda McMillan serves as our Finance and Purchasing Manager. She lives on a small farm in Woodlawn, VA. with her husband Don and a very special rescue dog named Julie. She comes to AES with more than 20 years accounting experience in the automotive and manufacturing industries.

    Rhonda and the Finance Team maintains all accounting processes and internal controls including financial statements. Rhonda and the Purchasing Team provide support to the Production Teams with parts and materials needed for our repair and assembly services. The team identifies high quality suppliers to ensure the highest quality parts and materials are available for our Production Team to use on customer orders while also be cost effective and identifying savings at all times. Rhonda is an asset to our team!

    Meet Justin

    Justin Bartley serves as our Lead Enginner. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technologies from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Justin resides in Lowgap, NC with his wife Misti.  He enjoys spending time with his family as well as many hobbies that usually include working with electronics or spending time outside.  Prior to AES, Justin worked at Lowes hardware as a sales associate.  Justin joined AES part time while attending college in 2001 and was hired full time in June of 2004 as an Electronic Repair Technician.  Justin was promoted into an Engineering roll in September 2006 and currently serves as the Lead Engineer.  Justin performs various tasks at AES including the evaluation and quoting of new projects and develops and troubleshoots test equipment to improve our repair capabilities and quality assurance.  Justin creates test procedures, crosses parts, performs reverse engineering, creates files for PCB production, and assists Electronic Repair Technicians with repairs. Justin is a great asset to our team!

    Meet Donna

    Donna Stevens serves as the Human Resources Director at AES. She holds an Associate Degree in Business Administration and has thirty plus years of experience in the Human Resources field.  Donna joined AES in August 2013, having previously worked for Renfro Corporation and the City of Mount Airy. 

    She oversees and manages all of the company’s personnel, training, coaching & development, benefits, along with all other aspects of Human Resources. Donna assists supervisors with staffing plans, interviews and recruits the best talent around, and provides an open door policy for all employees. Donna also serves as the supervisor of the Customer Service Department, ensuring that all customers orders are processed and handled with the best care possible.  Donna, her husband, and son, along with two fur babies, reside in the Holly Springs community of Mount Airy, NC.

    Meet Shannon

    Shannon Sutphin serves as the Mechanical Manager. In the Summer of 1999 he Married his best friend, Sunni A. Sutphin. He has two wonderful kids Cole A. Sutphin and Sarah E. Sutphin. Shannon graduated from North Surry High School and received a technical degree in Electrical Systems and Programming from Surry Community College.  His hobbies include coaching youth softball, spending time with his family and friends and coaching youth softball.

    He began his career as an Electrician but moved into the field of system design and integrator for Johnson Modern Electric. He studied and earned a certificate from Rockwell Automation for Allen Bradley Programming. He then went on to start his own Hydraulic Repair Company in 2003 in Mt Airy, NC.

    Shannon is responsible for overseeing and managing the Mechanical Division which handles Industrial and Commercial repairs such as Electric Motor, Hydraulic, Gear Boxes, Specialty Pumps and many others while providing support to Sales, Customer Service, Operations, and Customers. He supervise the department staff including Mechanical Repair Technicians, , Motor Winding Technicians, Quoting Specialists and Purchasing Specialists. Shannon manages the work flow and ensures that all customer repairs are completed before the due dates with quality as a top priority. He ensure that evaluations and quotes are competitive and processed back to the customer in a timely manner. Shannon also continuously designs and develops new capabilities to add to the Mechanical Division’s Services. He closely monitors and manages the spending in accordance with the department budget to ensure strong financial health for the department.  Shannon is a critical member of our Mechanical Division!

    Meet Steve

    Steve Cooke is our President and founded the company in March of 1992. Steve graduated from Spartanburg Technical College with an Associates Degree in Electronics Engineering. He is married to his wife, Leslie Cooke and has 4 children, Nicholas Cooke, Mackenzie Cooke, Maggie Cooke, and Brett Cooke. Prior to AES, Steve worked for Moyer Electronics as an Electronic Engineering Technician and worked with various manufacturing companies prior to that. He then partnered with his wife, Leslie to start an electronic repair company in Mount Airy, NC where his parents live. They began in a small wooden shed behind his parents home and have grown the company into what it is today serving thousands of customers across the globe in a state of the art 90,000 square foot facility with a wide range of services including electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic repair as well as engineering, assembly build services, and new & used equipment sales. Steve is focused daily on working with the Business Development Team by developing strategic markets to target for new business opportunities. He also researches and identifies new services that we can add to our profile while strategically expanding the company through acquisitions and aggressive sales efforts. Steve also is heavily involved in implementing new services and projects for our critical customers to ensure the highest quality services are provided to our customers.

    Meet Larry

    Larry Ervin serves as the Quality Manager for AES. Larry is married and has 1 son. He has over 20 years of experience in the automotive assembly OEM industry as well as 20 years with the Department of Defense and Military industry. As Quality Manager, Larry is responsible for the management of our Quality Management System and maintaining our ISO 9000 certification for our company.     Josh Caudle serves at the Imaging Repair & Projects Supervisor at AES. Josh graduated from Surry Community College and Wilkes Community College. He is married to Tabitha Caudle and has 3 children; Bryson, Brody, and Sophie Caudle. Josh enjoys spending time with his family and playing sports with his children. As Imaging Repair & Projects Supervisor, Josh oversees all repairs for the Imaging Repair department including photo printers, kiosk monitors, one-hour photo machines, and more.     Nicholas Cooke serves as the Financial Coordinator for AES. He graduated from Surry Community College with an Associates of Science in Business Administration and a Certificate in Accounting. He will begin pursuing his Bachelors of Science in Business Administration through Gardner Webb University in the Spring of 2018. As Financial Coordinator, Nicholas develops, implements, and monitors the company’s annual operating budget while reviewing costs and identifying areas of savings for the company. Nicholas prepares and analyzes financial reports for upper management including income statements, balance sheets, and other reports. He coordinates financial planning for special projects that require additional resources such as new staff, tools, equipment, facility renovations, and more. He also serves as the company’s Employee and Community Relations Director, planning and organizing employee related events such as our Quarterly Luncheons, Halloween Costume Contest, Christmas Week, and more.     Meet Whitt

    Whitt Mitchell serves as our Logistics Supervisor. He resides in Ararat, VA with his four daughters Fallon, Skye, Clariti, and Maisley. Prior to joining AES, Whitt was a Warehouse Supervisor at Ten Oaks in Stuart, VA and also managed a flooring installation business. Whitt joined AES in December of 2014 as a Shipping Specialist and was later promoted to Logistics Supervisor. He schedules and manages the companies pickup and delivery routes for our customers throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia. He also oversees all aspects of the receiving staff to ensure that all incoming shipments including customer products and parts are received in an efficient and effective manner. Whitt manages our two warehouses at our Headquarters and 2 additional warehousing facilities of over 100,000 square feet that contains customer product.     Rhonda McMillan serves as our Finance and Purchasing Manager. She lives on a small farm in Woodlawn, VA. with her husband Don and a very special rescue dog named Julie. She comes to AES with more than 20 years accounting experience in the automotive and manufacturing industries.

    Rhonda and the Finance Team maintains all accounting processes and internal controls including financial statements.     Justin Bartley serves as our Lead Enginner. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technologies from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Justin resides in Lowgap, NC with his wife Misti.  He enjoys spending time with his family as well as many hobbies that usually include working with electronics or spending time outside.  Prior to AES, Justin worked at Lowes hardware as a sales associate.  Justin joined AES part time while attending college in 2001 and was hired full time in June of 2004 as an Electronic Repair Technician.  Justin was promoted into an Engineering roll in September 2006 and currently serves as the Lead Engineer.  Justin performs various tasks at AES including the evaluation and quoting of new projects and develops and troubleshoots test equipment to improve our repair capabilities and quality assurance.  Justin creates test procedures, crosses parts, performs reverse engineering, creates files for PCB production, and assists Electronic Repair Technicians with repairs.     Donna Stevens serves as the Human Resources Director at AES. She holds an Associate Degree in Business Administration and has thirty plus years of experience in the Human Resources field.  Donna joined AES in August 2013, having previously worked for Renfro Corporation and the City of Mount Airy. 

    She oversees and manages all of the company’s personnel, training, coaching & development, benefits, along with all other aspects of Human Resources. Donna assists supervisors with staffing plans, interviews and recruits the best talent around, and provides an open door policy for all employees. Donna also serves as the supervisor of the Customer Service Department, ensuring that all customers orders are processed and handled with the best care possible.  Donna, her husband, and son, along with two fur babies, reside in the Holly Springs community of Mount Airy, NC.

    Meet Shannon

    Shannon Sutphin serves as the Mechanical Manager. In the Summer of 1999 he Married his best friend, Sunni A. Sutphin. He has two wonderful kids Cole A. Sutphin and Sarah E. Sutphin. Shannon graduated from North Surry High School and received a technical degree in Electrical Systems and Programming from Surry Community College.  His hobbies include coaching youth softball, spending time with his family and friends and coaching youth softball.

    He began his career as an Electrician but moved into the field of system design and integrator for Johnson Modern Electric. He studied and earned a certificate from Rockwell Automation for Allen Bradley Programming. He then went on to start his own Hydraulic Repair Company in 2003 in Mt Airy, NC.

    Shannon is responsible for overseeing and managing the Mechanical Division which handles Industrial and Commercial repairs such as Electric Motor, Hydraulic, Gear Boxes, Specialty Pumps and many others while providing support to Sales, Customer Service, Operations, and Customers. He supervise the department staff including Mechanical Repair Technicians, , Motor Winding Technicians, Quoting Specialists and Purchasing Specialists. Shannon manages the work flow and ensures that all customer repairs are completed before the due dates with quality as a top priority. He ensure that evaluations and quotes are competitive and processed back to the customer in a timely manner. Shannon also continuously designs and develops new capabilities to add to the Mechanical Division’s Services. He closely monitors and manages the spending in accordance with the department budget to ensure strong financial health for the department.  Shannon is a critical member of our Mechanical Division!

    James Boyd serves as our Vice President of Business Development for AES. He is married to his wife of over 26 years (Detra) with three children (Sarah, Seth, and Summer) a great Son in-law Mark Willard and Grandson Asher Willard. James truly enjoys hearing the TRUTH of God’s word even though it points out the weaknesses of all men “(especially my own, knowing myself better than anyone)” he says, causing him to be thankful for His Son who took Jame’s place on Calvary. He also enjoys muscle cars of all makes even though his older brothers got him hooked on Corvettes at the age of eight. He also really enjoys TRYING to play golf even though he says he started way too late in his life to ever be any good.

    James is a Graduate of Carroll County High School in Hillsville, Virginia. He attended classes at Surry Community College and Virginia Tech. He has also spent much time on the campus of Radford University. Never receiving a degree, but spending quality time with professors and graduates has allowed him to have a unique insight in our overall business approach here at AES. Example: AES sponsored a marketing project for the University of North Carolina at Greensboro’s (UNCG) Bryan School of Business and Economics; as a mentor to the MBA students James spent much time with their MBA Department Leads and North Carolina Regional Directors. From that sponsorship and involvement he was invited to attend Harvard Law Schools Program on Negotiation for Senior Executives. This program was a collaborative effort among faculty at Harvard, MIT, Tufts and other Boston-area universities to design, implement and evaluate improved dispute resolution practices.

    Responsibilities at AES – he is responsible for sales and business direction through a developmental strategy that allows AES to become not just a supplier but an integrated partner with our customers. This includes; business inception, contract negotiations, training and scheduling, final implementation and ongoing relationship management. He reports directly to the owners of AES, Leslie and Steve Cooke whom he works closely with to set goals and parameters from and for their overall business ideas. He has direct contact with all AES customers and assert business protection/continuity practices through multi-level cross training and ongoing support throughout the organization here at AES.

    Prior to my current position – He was co-owner of a family owned grounds and maintenance company that’s still in operation today. This family business holds multiple contracts with state and local governmental agencies. James is an asset to our team!

    As National Sales Manager, he oversees the daily sales functions of the sales team and assists in closing sales, generating leads to help the sales team develop new opportunities, and helps to ensure customer satisfaction.     Steve Cooke is our President and founded the company in March of 1992. Steve graduated from Spartanburg Technical College with an Associates Degree in Electronics Engineering. He is married to his wife, Leslie Cooke and has 4 children, Nicholas Cooke, Mackenzie Cooke, Maggie Cooke, and Brett Cooke. Prior to AES, Steve worked for Moyer Electronics as an Electronic Engineering Technician and worked with various manufacturing companies prior to that. He then partnered with his wife, Leslie to start an electronic repair company in Mount Airy, NC where his parents live. They began in a small wooden shed behind his parents home and have grown the company into what it is today serving thousands of customers across the globe in a state of the art 90,000 square foot facility with a wide range of services including electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic repair as well as engineering, assembly build services, and new & used equipment sales. Steve is focused daily on working with the Business Development Team by developing strategic markets to target for new business opportunities. He also researches and identifies new services that we can add to our profile while strategically expanding the company through acquisitions and aggressive sales efforts.     Shannon started her career at Lowe’s Companies and has also worked for VF Corporation and Renfro Manufacturing before joining us at AES. As Project Manager she is responsible for managing all aspects of the manufacturing and assembly projects from our customers including the planning, scope, time, costing, and quality for each project. She also provides detailed status updates, risk analysis, and issues to leadership to ensure highest level of service for each project.

     

    She works closely with engineering, production, purchasing, quality, logistics, finance, account managers and Sales to make sure we deliver exceptional results in a timely manner.  Shannon constantly works to strengthen AES’s relationships with our customers to help grow these accounts. She is responsible for overseeing the scheduling of repairs to ensure they are completed before customer deadlines. As Imaging Repair & Projects Supervisor, Josh oversees all repairs for the Imaging Repair department including photo printers, kiosk monitors, one-hour photo machines, and more. He is responsible for ensuring that all orders are completed with the highest-quality repair possible and meets the due date set by our customers. He is also oversees the production for our Projects Team to ensure that orders are processed accurately and on time. He works with the Project Manager and Project Leads to ensure that the customer needs are met and all builds for the project are assembled correctly and according to the drawings provided by the customer.     Meet Shannon

    Shannon Sutphin serves as the Mechanical Manager. In the Summer of 1999 he Married his best friend, Sunni A. Sutphin. He has two wonderful kids Cole A. Sutphin and Sarah E. Sutphin. Shannon graduated from North Surry High School and received a technical degree in Electrical Systems and Programming from Surry Community College.  His hobbies include coaching youth softball, spending time with his family and friends and coaching youth softball.

    He began his career as an Electrician but moved into the field of system design and integrator for Johnson Modern Electric. He studied and earned a certificate from Rockwell Automation for Allen Bradley Programming. He then went on to start his own Hydraulic Repair Company in 2003 in Mt Airy, NC.

    Shannon is responsible for overseeing and managing the Mechanical Division which handles Industrial and Commercial repairs such as Electric Motor, Hydraulic, Gear Boxes, Specialty Pumps and many others while providing support to Sales, Customer Service, Operations, and Customers. He supervise the department staff including Mechanical Repair Technicians, , Motor Winding Technicians, Quoting Specialists and Purchasing Specialists. Shannon manages the work flow and ensures that all customer repairs are completed before the due dates with quality as a top priority. He ensure that evaluations and quotes are competitive and processed back to the customer in a timely manner. Shannon also continuously designs and develops new capabilities to add to the Mechanical Division’s Services. He closely monitors and manages the spending in accordance with the department budget to ensure strong financial health for the department.  Shannon is a critical member of our Mechanical Division!

    Meet Larry

    Larry Ervin serves as the Quality Manager for AES. Larry is married and has 1 son. He has over 20 years of experience in the automotive assembly OEM industry as well as 20 years with the Department of Defense and Military industry. As Quality Manager, Larry is responsible for the management of our Quality Management System and maintaining our ISO 9000 certification for our company. He also is responsible for the inspection of all of our repairs and assemblies that we produce for our customers. Larry works to evaluate internal processes to ensure compliance to our written procedures as well as identifies areas of improvement across the company. Larry is an asset to our team!
